Rick Steves "över Cinque Terre (video)

It was very nice and surprising  for me to find this video on youtube…suddently I thought : That’s a good chanche to talk a bit of Mr. Rick Steves and focus on what he does actually mean for the Cinque Terre…
Maybe not many people know… but we (touristic operators of the 5 Terre area ) must be very much grateful to him since, not only in my opinion, he’s been the main reason of Cinque Terre’s popularity in the USA and all around the world.
We’re used to listen local media tributing to the National Park (formally established in 1999 and effectively in 2002) the 100% of thanks for that but this is mainly “propaganda”..I know I’ll be accused of partizanism (or better anti-partizasism!) but that’s just the truth.

The story:
Around 1995 Mr. Rick Steves came into these lands and since the first moment he felt in love with this lanscape, espetially Vernazza . From there on, he started to spend beautiful words on his guides, (and these words were and hopefully still are …again just the truth!..) och efter de olika versionerna av “Rick Steves Italien” 1997 och 1998.. vi var många turister från USA, also in the other villages that were almost unknown to the tourist’s mass and I’m talking about Manarola, Riomaggiore och Corniglia , this last having its mediatic prominence in this video.. From there on, tourists from USA  were the “gold mine” of these lands, at least until the “euro revolution” of 2002 and even more until the recent global recession…But they were more! They were also speakers of the beauty of our towns to the rest of the world and we want to thanks them..and incourage them to return back soon!

Kärlekens Väg – Video

Kärlekens Väg är den mest kända gågatan väg Cinque Terre. Ansluts Manarola till Riomaggiore och den är öppen för alla utan någon speciell utrustning för vandring på drygt 20 minuter.

Festivalen Andersen 2009 - Sestri Levante videor

Locandina della 42° edizione del Festival Andersen, Sestri Levante 28-31 Maggio 2009

Da Giovedì 28 Maggio a Domenica 31 Maggio si svolge a Sestri Levante la 42° edizione del “Festival Andersen”, il magnifico spettacolo di arte di strada che riunisce artisti provenienti da molti paesi del mondo.

Si tratta di un’occasione di vera gioia, per bambini, famiglie e adulti, tutti in egual misura coinvolti dall’atmosfera di festa e di cultura del divertimento, che pure in tempi difficili, la bravura degli artisti e la perfetta organizzazione del festival sanno trasmettere.

Narrazione, musica, teatro, comicità, danza, acrobazie: varie forme di espressione artistica condensate nelle strade della bellissima cittadina della Riviera di Levante che nell’occasione esprime tutta la sua bellezza. Le due spiagge di Sestri Levante che si affacciano sui due lati del promontorio diventano teatri; le persone si appropriano delle strade interne e delle piazze e vengono inevitabilmente contagiate dalla gioia dello stare insieme emanata da quell’antichissima e spontanea forma d’arte che è l’arte di strada.
Un appuntamento immancabile per festeggiare l’inizio dell’estate cui invitiamo tutti i lettori a partecipare, non dimenticando che gli artisti non percepiscono alcuna retribuzione per i loro spettacoli e contano molto sulla solidarietà degli spettatori, i quali potranno dimostrare il loro apprezzamento acquistando un loro CD o offrendo loro un piccolo aiuto economico.

Sköt ner Scheletrone, l’ecomostro dell’isola Palmaria – Portovenere

Finalmente il 22 Maggio scorso è stato abbattuto lo “scheletrone”, uno dei più famosi ecomostri italiani, eretto abusivamente sull’isola Palmaria nel 1968. La struttura sorgeva nel curore del Parco Regionale di Portovenere, proprio di fronte alla splendida chiesa di S. Pietro e rappresentava un vero e proprio scandalo paesaggistico.
